  1. If you work for a company, find out about your benefits

    • Short Term Disability
    • Co-Pay for Psychologist visits
    • Co-Pay for Psychiatrist visits
    • Ask about free resources
  2. Visit your primary care physician
    • Make a list of all your symptoms
    • Make a list of all your questions
    • Take all recommended tests
    • Get your blood work done
    • If everything comes back negative…
      • Ask for a referral to a psychologist
      • Ask for a referral to a psychiatrist
  3. For women: Visit your OB/GYN
    • Make a list of all your symptoms
    • Make a list of all your questions
    • Take all recommended tests (if any additional)
    • If everything comes back negative
      • Ask for a referral to a psychologist
      • Ask for a referral to a psychiatrist
  4. It is extremely important to trust your doctors.
    • Ask family and friends for recommendations
    • If you do not trust your doctor, switch!
  5. Make an appointment with the Psychologist

    • Follow your instincts
    • Follow advice
    • Ask for a referral to a psychiatrist
  6. Make an appointment with the Psychiatrist

    • Be open and honest
    • Follow instructions
    • Ask for a number where he/she can be reached after hours
    • Keep track of your symptoms, side effects and any other feelings
  7. Get well and live a full life!
